The Certified AI-Enabled Facilitator™ course is the first hands-on workshop designed specifically for facilitators, project managers, and leaders who design and lead collaborative sessions. Participants learn how to integrate AI into every stage of the facilitation process—from preparing for sponsor interviews to documenting session outcomes.

Rather than simply demonstrating what AI can do, this workshop provides six hands-on exercises where participants use AI to solve real facilitation challenges. By the end of the course, participants will have a practical methodology they can immediately apply to their own work.

Participants who wish to earn the Certified AI-Enabled Facilitator™ (CAEF) designation must successfully complete the hands-on exercises and pass the course assessment. Participants who are interested only in the learning experience may simply choose not to take the test at the end of the course.

Q: Do I need prior AI experience?

No. The course is designed for beginners as well as experienced AI users. Participants will learn both the fundamentals and practical applications of AI in facilitation.

 Q: Do I need to be a professional facilitator?

No. While facilitators are the primary audience, project managers, leaders, consultants, HR professionals, and others who lead meetings and collaborative sessions will benefit from the course.

 Q: Which AI tools are covered?

The course explores leading AI tools including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity, and several specialized tools used for presentation creation and session documentation.

 Q: Is this a course on prompting?

No. Prompting is an important skill that is well covered, but this course is significantly more than that. The course focuses on applying AI across the entire facilitation lifecycle. Participants learn when and how to use AI to improve specific facilitation tasks.

 Q:  Is this a replacement for The Effective Facilitator?

No. The Effective Facilitator teaches the methodologies and techniques required to facilitate highly effective sessions. The Certified AI-Enabled Facilitator™ shows participants how to use AI to support and enhance those facilitation practices. Some will take The Effective Facilitator prior to becoming a CAEF; some will take it after becoming a CAEF; some will not take it at all.

Q: How much hands-on practice is included?

A great deal. This is a hands-on workshop, not a lecture.

Participants complete six hands-on exercises that mirror the actual work facilitators perform, allowing them to immediately apply what they learn.

 Q: What makes this course different from other AI courses?

Most AI courses teach generic AI skills.

This course is specifically designed for facilitators and focuses on applying AI to real facilitation challenges. Participants leave with a practical methodology for integrating AI into their preparation, design, execution, and documentation processes. But more importantly, given the six practice exercises, participants walk away confident they can apply their learned skills immediately.

 Q: Do I have to take the certification test?

No. The certification test is optional.

Participants who wish to earn the Certified AI-Enabled Facilitator™ (CAEF) designation must successfully complete the hands-on exercises and pass the course assessment. Participants who are interested only in the learning experience may simply choose not to take the test at the end of the course.

 Q: What is the recertification requirement?

As a member of the CAEF community, certified facilitators will receive ongoing information about advances in AI related to facilitation.

But because AI is evolving rapidly, the Certified AI-Enabled Facilitator™ designation must be renewed every two years to remain current.

Renewal requirements include:

• Completion of at least four hours of continuing education related to AI

• Payment of a $125 renewal fee

While facilitators can use AI training from any organization to satisfy the continuing education requirement, Leadership Strategies will offer annual update programs that participants may use. These programs will be designed specifically for facilitators to help them stay current with emerging AI tools, evolving best practices, and new applications of AI across the facilitation lifecycle.
